Livre d’or

My first encounter with Hind el Amaoui was in China in December 2007 at the Guangzhou Art Fair, the first Moroccan woman to exhibit in China,

At first glance I felt the soul in her work.

Everyone refers to her as the “Oriental Picasso”...

I say she's herself first and foremost!

Sure, she uses the language of cubism, but she has her own real artistic sensibility,

Her delicate feminine perception... Oriental.

Her paintings are full of color and Oriental fragrances, and she paints as she breathes,

All the life of Morocco is in her canvases.

Her painting is at once sensual, mystical, poetic, tender and warm;

Her cubism is close to zelliges and Islamic geometry, and her work is directly linked to tradition, yet original and creative.

(Picasso for destructured forms and Delacroix for Oriental color...).

Her colors are those of a joyful, generous people!

Through her paintings, she celebrates Moroccan women in their everyday lives, generously and accurately asserting their unrivalled place in society.

She gives thanks...

The Moroccan Woman, who contributes so much to the Peace and Beauty of this marvelous country of a thousand perfumes, a thousand flavors...

What more can I say? Hind El Amaoui's paintings magnetize you and go straight to your heart...
